Real 5.1/7.1 surround sound headsets are old fashioned.
Get a stereo one that simulates 5.1/7.1. It uses software to do all the fancy stuff and it works well. I have no idea how it works but if 2 human ears can tell where a sound is coming from then it is certainly reasonable to expect stereo headphones to do it!
My Corsair HS1 USB headset is very good and is virtual 7.1.
Completely disagree.
Real surround sound headsets with multiple drivers in each can are far better than these "virtual" surround headphones.
I've tried the HS1's, Vengeance 2000's amongst others and they sound crap compared to my current Kaves.
used to love my old 5.1 medusa headset lol.
Will these Roccat Kave's work ok with an Asus D2X?
I heard they don't play well with 7.1 cards? (in the ocuk product reviews)
All the more expensive headsets use stereo speakers and are better.
You are just convincing yourself that the real 5.1s are better because you are trying to justify your purchase.

I looked at myself in the mirror wearing the kave's...not a good idea.
You will look ridiculous wearing them unless you look like 5UB.
