Hello,

I'm thinking of getting this mouse: http://overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-008-RC&tool=3

I currently have mx518 and my hand feels fairly cramped on it and it will sometimes hurt my wrist, especially after long sessions of minecraft :D
Can any previous 518 owners that upgraded give any comments about the size difference?

Also I find the 518 to be a bit un-smooth/jaggedy when making small movements but that may be due to not using any kind of surface/mat except for my desk.
So what I'm really asking is will this mouse be a lot smoother and does it come with the pictured mat?

I have the Roccat Kova + and never been happier.

Roccat do great mice and keyboards.

The Kova is great and is lightning fast and the software maybe slow to respond, but does a great job.

The Kone is basically the next step up from my Kova and will be a great, responsive and confortable mouse.

You won't regret it :P

when I upgrade my Lachesis it will be to either a Kone or a Lachesis Refresh.

I've not used one, but it looks the business to me.

Thanks,
I think I will get it, I really like the look of roccat software.
Now I just need to pick a mat as I take it the pictured one doesn't come with it.

The software can be confusing. Only thing wrong with it, even with the latest version I downloaded from Roccat is that when you change something i.e. the colour of the lights or even the DPI settings and you click "apply" it takes around 30-45 seconds to kick in and the software seems to Not Respond. Just leave it and it will sort itself out.

Can anyone comment on the size of the mouse? At the moment I find myself holding my 518 by my fingertips like a claw rather than my hand being sat over the mouse, I think that's where my light wrist pains are coming from.

I will never buy Roccat again. Worst CS I have ever seen in the industry, ever.

Totally and utterly wanted NOTHING to do with a broken Roccat Kone with a manufacturing defect. Even called their damn CS manager on the phone to be told they will do absolutely nothing to help. Seemed more interested in quoting my warranty rights (or lack-thereof) than doing something useful.

Pretty nice kit, just hope you NEVER EVER need to touch the warranty or customer service. To me that makes their hardware worthless.

Couldn't get on with this mouse sadly, shame because the finish and build quality is nothing short of incredible - but I found the software a bit restrictive (I couldn't find a way to map either of the thumb buttons to "hold down" a key)
