Roccat Vulcan 80 Linux problem

I was wondering if anyone else has hit this problem before.

As a Linux gamer, I have to buy "Windows" keyboards, and while I obviously don't have access to the macro and lighting software, they do at least function properly as keyboards. Apparently... not this one. Roccat Vulcan 80, firmware 1.15 (latest)

Also attached to a KVM, when it initialises to Linux, it starts spamming "a" until a key is pressed... and after that, the first "a" struck, doesn't register, and then it gets back to normal.

Normal, however, includes a feature whereby if caps lock is pressed too often, then it starts spamming "a" again. Which is not funny for games that require caps lock... as suddenly I can find myself strafing left. Not much fun.

Of course, under Windows 7, it works fine.

I contacted Roccat on Monday evening, and it's now Friday morning and I haven't heard anything. Is this kind of behaviour/response typical of Roccat in other peoples experience... and if so, does anyone know of any way around this? I do actually like the keyboard a lot... it ticks my boxes technically speaking... it's just this pain of a firmware issue, and Roccat's lack of engagement.

Roccat have confirmed that they have no plans at the moment, to fix the firmware issue... so at present, the message from Roccat is... if you use anything other than Windows, or you use a KVM, then don't buy a Roccat keyboard. I did, technically, confirm that the KVM wasn't the issue in my case.

"I'm sorry, but there are no plans at the moment to expand our Linux support. The use of a KVM switch is also very problematic. Due to the amount of devices of this type on the market, we can't test all of them to make sure our products work correctly with them. Therefore we don't offer any support for them and don't recommend to use our products with these devices. The trouble you are experiencing might actually be caused by the KVM switch more than by the operating system."

This is a crying shame. Back to the Ducky Zero... via the KVM.

I have similar issue on Fedora 31/32 and Arch. As soon as the system starts, it keep spamming 'a's until I press esc key. Numlk and 'a' key are not working properly. What's strange - the behavior is quite different between uefi and legacy mode. The response from Roccat was short: "we do not provide any support for Linux".... it's truly a shame.. :(
