Rock band 2, Instuments???

I'm trying to decide between this and GHWT for my 360. I think I want RB2, but the more I read about the instruments the more I get confused. I believe both sets work on both games. So which are better?

Also are there new rock band instruments coming out with RB2, or do I pre-order RB2 and the original band in a box?

On a side note, I really can't wait to play the drums! any other tips from hardened RBers :-)

RB2 hardware hits our shores in Dec (2 - 3 weeks after game?!) iirc.

Some talk of the drums suffering from crosstalk so maybe best to hold on until other folk can be guinea pigs for you.

Madcatz are releasing a bunch of 3rd party hardware that actually looks good! Soft and hard guitar cases/guitar tree/portable drums and full size wooden guitars....

) and that should give you a shove in the right direction

I'm sticking with my GH3 guitars as I rather like the wireless.

Drums and tips? PRACTICE. Everywhere you go drum on counters/tables etc. Annoys the crap out of people but who cares

Also I find bigger, heavier sticks activate the pads a little better

I have zero musical ability but love music - so i'm gonna get RB2 or GHWT too - just trying to decide on which is best too - any tips?

Rockband 2. Has to much dlc to ignore

I'm gonna be buying GH:WT with the guitar as it seems the guitar offers the ability to work perfectly with rock band due to the extra touch pad buttons while being cheaper, and then buy rock band solus.

Yes you can, but the track has to be your own creation. There some news a few days ago saying that they were being really strict and removing anything which might infringe on copyrighted material (even the Mario theme music)

I think most people are waiting for the new instuments to come out check out reviews and opinions of members here, then get there game of choice and instruments.

Me I keep my Les Paul form gh3 and pick up a drum-set (undecided yet)

I prefer the looks of the GHWT drum set, as it looks really well thought out. My wife managed to have a go on it when we visited Stuff Live a few weeks ago and she thought it was much better than the rev1 rock band kit we have atm.

is it me or.. is guitar hero world tour a little more mainstream music while rock band 2 is much more 'rock' with music that is less mainstream?

The music is totally different on the two games - i think the decision as to which is better will come down to which one you know more songs from - for me that is guitar hero tbh.
