Rock Fans - NW Area

Bit of a heads up to Rock fans regarding a new radio station I got told about over the weekend. It's starting up in Manchester next week (May 5th). 106.1FM Rock Radio. Supposed to be a Classic Rock station from 60's through to the 90's. It's currently broadcasting a test signal and the artist's are of the likes of

Zepplin, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Inxs, Nirvana, Bon Jovi etc.

They got a free open air concert in Cathedral Square on Bank Hol Monday featuring Gun and Bad Company amongst others.

I'm not sure of the transmission range but I was getting a good reception near Stoke on Saturday. Will make a change from some of the other specialist radio stations, especially if you like a bit of Classic Rock

I'll try tuning in from Newcastle next week, see if I can get it up here. I know it's unlikely, but I'd be quite happy with a radio station which played that kind of stuff

I've been listening for the last couple of weeks in the car on my way to work but the signal tends to fade as I reach Liverpool. Sounds promising though. :cool:

One of the DJ's will be the evergreen, Mike Sweeney of the Salford Jets and Piccadilly Radio, etc.

Having tuned in for a couple of weeks now I can see what you mean, he's totally irritating in a Jimmy Saville kind of way.
