Any reason why rocket lake only has one m.2 gen 4 slot while AMD has all slots gen 4 on x570 ?
Awesome thanks. The Bolton place has this advisory, "Item due on 19 March 2021". Is this the same for OCUK, being shipped out early?
My board (Maximus Hero XIII Z590) has two gen 4 and 2 gen 3 M.2 slots (4 M.2 in total), I'm looking forward to no more SATA data/power cables![]()

Yeah, you might want to check some reviews. You might also want to check out what "hot garbage" actually means. Comet Lake isn't hot garbage, Rocket Lake is.But not in gaming.
Intel boards have always been slightly more than amd it does look a nice board though as for why maybe when some of the other intel boards come out theyll have twoBut that's priced £400+ you can buy x570 boards for around £260 - £290 which have 3 gen 4.0 m.2 slots
You better not let my 6700K hear you say that! I love that little girl. And my Maximus VIII Impact. SO much so I'm gonna try BIOS modding her to take a 9900KYou're a hot garbage fan boy

X570 seem to be limited to 3X M.2 slots in total, whereas Z590 boards can have 4 M.2 slots (though only two gen 4). I personally prefer the extra slot on Z590, as having two gen 4 Samsung 980 Pro's will suffice for my needs. I'll have cheaper 2-4TB drives for mass storage in the gen 3 slots, where speed isn't as important.
The meg unify is a great value boardFor me personally three slots would be enough the MSI AMD Ryzen X570 MEG Unify is £270 seems great value for money
This is a good pointI'd love to know where all these M.2 drives are magically getting all their PCI-E lanes from without sacrificing them from the 16x GPU slot. You gotta laugh 4x M.2 drives need 16x lanes in total, but you've only got 24 over all. Perhaps some nice PCI-E switches will save the day, or failing that MAGIC!![]()

£130 more than the 5800x..... hmmmm.... actually scratch that, its £160 odd more than the 10850k...![]()
I'm sure with the right combination of BIOS settings to nerf various parts of the 5800X, AMD could have at least 10 8 core SKUs as well. Intel can't even win artificial segmentation now!Ignore that, you have a choice of Ten 8 core 16 thread CPU's with Intel, how much winning is that?
