Rocket lake leaks

Awesome thanks. The Bolton place has this advisory, "Item due on 19 March 2021". Is this the same for OCUK, being shipped out early?

I would like to know the same? Are these the 19th @Gibbo

My board (Maximus Hero XIII Z590) has two gen 4 and 2 gen 3 M.2 slots (4 M.2 in total), I'm looking forward to no more SATA data/power cables :)

Me as well

But that's priced £400+ you can buy x570 boards for around £270 which have three gen 4.0 m.2 slots

No way I would upgrade to the i9 rocket lake if the prices are real £539.99 for 8 cores , I know the 5900x is hard to find I'd rather hold out not upgrading at all

And I'd pick the 5800x all day over the i7 rocket lake

But thats my opinion

Intel boards have always been slightly more than amd it does look a nice board though as for why maybe when some of the other intel boards come out theyll have two

X570 seem to be limited to 3X M.2 slots in total, whereas Z590 boards can have 4 M.2 slots (though only two gen 4). I personally prefer the extra slot on Z590, as having two gen 4 Samsung 980 Pro's will suffice for my needs. I'll have cheaper 2-4TB drives for mass storage in the gen 3 slots, where speed isn't as important.

For me personally three slots would be enough the MSI AMD Ryzen X570 MEG Unify is £270 seems great value for money

You can just add more M.2 drives via an add-in card for a few quid anyway. Not much else to use those extra PCIe slots for these days. I bought a few of them to use with older boards that only have one or no M.2 slots and they work just fine.

Price of the 11900K is nuts for an octa-core CPU. Rocket Lake will go down alongside Broadwell and Kaby Lake in the history books as something almost immediately made irrelevant even within Intel's own product stack.

Bend over....

Ten 8 core SKU's, lol. AMD One, Intel Ten.

I'd love to know where all these M.2 drives are magically getting all their PCI-E lanes from without sacrificing them from the 16x GPU slot. You gotta laugh 4x M.2 drives need 16x lanes in total, but you've only got 24 over all. Perhaps some nice PCI-E switches will save the day, or failing that MAGIC! :D :p

This is a good point :)

Ignore that, you have a choice of Ten 8 core 16 thread CPU's with Intel, how much winning is that?
I'm sure with the right combination of BIOS settings to nerf various parts of the 5800X, AMD could have at least 10 8 core SKUs as well. Intel can't even win artificial segmentation now!

Indeed, so much choice! Maybe I should game on half of my 3950X and let the other half crunch what the actual **** Intel are playing at.

In all seriousness as I game at 3440x1440 and stream / record using OBS x264 (still missing NVENC right now) the other "half" of the 3950X is putting in some real work right now. :)
