Not sure if anyone had spotted this yet, but next week (Thu 6th Nov) Rocksmith 2014 is being released for both PS4 and XBOne.

Really enjoyed the original, and play 2014 on the PC, so looking forward to this.

Ahem!

I'm all over this as well. Not picked up my guitar since I gave away my PS3.

The only downside is that it'll make me start thinking about buying a new amp and speakers again.

Damn, my search skills failed. Ah well :)
Amp, speakers, and digital audio cable all ready for this - can't wait.

Not picked up your guitar?? Why not? I mean I play it as a training game and use it to learn songs I normally wouldn't, but the whole point is it teaches you to play songs without needing the "game" - get playing :)

My amp is stuck waaaayy up the back of the cupboard under the stairs and it's probably never coming back out as I'm too lazy to pull everything out of the cupboard and put it back again.

Is there still the need to hook up audio via analogue on this game? or is HDMI ok with a XBO?

I had the first rockstar on ps3 but the navigation lag and load times made me angry.

Oooh, I may finally get this, is there anywhere I can pickup a cable or is it cheaper to buy it with the game?

I suppose it's possible that you could get a pre owned ps3 or xbox version cheap and cannibalise the cable from that but you're probably just as well buying the new version with cable included.

The only way to get a version without the cable is to go digital and knowing how these things are priced for UK customers it probably won't be cheap.

Yeah like Meths said, all the PS4/XBOne retail version will include a cable, only way to buy without id the digital version. I still have 2 cables (the cables are exactly the same) but one of them is a bit dodgy so I'll buy a retail one.

I'm mulling over whether to purchase it from the US PSN but am worried that my UK bought DLC may not work.

Hopefully the digital download is no more than £39.99 and I'll just buy the UK one.

I've got a guitar and I know some basic stuff, but I haven't played for ages. I like the look of this but the videos I've seen on YouTube look so damn confusing. Has anyone played it? Did it actually help you learn anything and is it as confusing as the videos on YouTube look?

It's really not confusing at all and does help you learn to play the songs with enough practise.

Some of the mini games are fun as well.

Ended up buying it on my USA account.

$59.99 versus £59.99 and the dlc doesn't appear to care which region the game comes from.

Edit: Looks like the uk dlc may not install after all.

Ended up getting refunded and ordered a hard copy from Amazon for £54.99.

I couldn't bring myself to pay £59.99 for digital knowing that for a fiver cheaper I could get a backup realtone cable.

That's the thing, I still have my 360, plugged in still...I'm not buying it for the graphics and I even have the analogue cable plugged in especially for this.

I already have it on the PC, but stopped PC gaming so just have a laptop. The PS3 is in the kids room now, so for me it's simply to play it on the big tv in the lounge :) Am (not very patiently) waiting for my Amazon order to arrive right now :)

From what I read lag is still a major issue if going straight through HDMI, not suprisingly, so I have the PS4 digital audio hooked up to the av all ready for this.

I didn't notice the lag to any great extent on either the PS3 or PS4 versions but it may well be dependent on the TV and my timing is rubbish anyway.

Massively enjoying this, though I hope they hurry with more of the DLC catalogue (read that it was all given to Sony but would be drip-fed onto the network until the end of the year).
