Looking for some help if anyone has come across this?

I've just switched over to windows 11 after upgrading from a 6700K to a 13900K etc. Unfortunately I cannot now get rocksmith 2014 to run at all.

I've tried launching it through steam as normal and through Ubisofts launcher and a few other things such as launch as administrator and with windows 8 compatibility settings. Nothing helps

I'd really like to be able to run this as I have hundreds of £'s of DLC and between me and my partner we use it almost daily. rocksmith+ isn't an option (though it runs and I have a stupid subscription it quite simply sucks and has very little content at all)

Has anyone come across this and knows a fix? Or would someone be willing to try and help me get this sorted? I'd really REALLY appreciate it.

When I click play on steam or any other launcher I get a loading icon on the cursor but no other change and then the button changes back to play again.

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried al the various fixes on this thread which could also impact your Windows 11 version? :-)

I've tried the beta as I had run into that issue on windows 10 and this worked but not on 11 unfortunately.

This is what I've got on event viewer

Can anyone help? I moved over to 11 to get past all the hdr issues I was having and now I can't play quite a few of my older games. I can't easily switch back to 10 as I bought a retail windows 11 key unless they are somehow interchangeable?

Have done several reinstalls and even a re-format and fresh install of windows. I have tried the verify files and after every launch attempt it find a file that needs to be reacquired but no change otherwise.
I've loaded into the beta version as well and again no change but the same error in eventviewer

Is the game installed on to a HDD or an SSD?

Have you checked event viewer for any errors relating to the storage at all?

In event viewer check the system section rather than the application section.

Are all Windows updates installed?

Do you have anything like MSI afterburner installed or running while trying to run the game?

Edit, having a quick look online it can be down to the amount of cores the processor has. This is from 2019 but take a look below

Unsure if it will help but worth a try

It's on the only ssd i currently have installed while i try to get everything working.
It's the one the OS is on.
Eventviewer has had some administrative events like messing up my ntuser.dat file but nothing on the storage. I've done memtest several times as I originally had faulty ddr5 sticks. It's on a fresh instal of windows since then so shouldn't be an issue now and memtest runs without any errors.
Windows is fully updated.

I do have afterburner installed so I'll give that a try.
I did have a 6700K so i guess maybe.. I'll give that a try. Thanks!

Uninstalling afterburner made no difference. (I need it to keep my 3090 as cool as possible)

I've tried limiting the number of threads down to 24, 12, 8, 6, 4 and 1 and no dice :(

Tried setting affinity to a smaller number of threads as well no change.

Oh dear.

Try DLL fix?

Try roll back to live version?

Join discord to get a file that will work on 13900K CPU?

Try JustInCaseWeNeedIt branch update and other methods?

Try update all mods? CDLCEnabler?

Try move msvcr100.dll out of C:/WINDOWS/SysWOW64 folder and install xnafx40_redist.msi?
Try move d3dx9_42.dll out of rocksmith2004 folder?

Try new Rocksmith 2004 fix workaround by open steam console to download depot files?

Thankyou very much! it was indeed the d3dx9.dll fix from their discord that is needed specifically for the 13900K Utter madness! I spent days trying to fix this and even rolled back to windows 10

Genuinely really appreciate this as I was tearing my hair out trying to get this up and running.

:D
