Rockstar Table Tennis Preview

True but how many people in the farcry thread have said they want something different and not rehashes of titles/sequels/addons what ever. This is something different.
 
Kudos to Rockstar if you ask me, they are developing a game that they themselves WANT to do, not what the masses dictate, not another rehash of an existing series.

Ok so it might not sell particularly well, but I'm sure they will have made allowances for that.
 
if they do it right, this could be a slow burner for them.

never a number 1 hit but one of those games that everyone will buy sooner or later to complete their "best of" collection.

I swear, every game released these days seems to be yet another identikit table tennis game. Or if not table tennis, then tiddlywinks, or stamp collecting. I mean, would it kill Rockstar to have a bit of imagination and try something new? Like, I dunno, one of those settings that rarely gets represented these days, like World War 2, or maybe a modern gangster game, where you could steal cars and shoot people and stuff (how cool would that be???), or no, I know, some kind of futuristic game, where humans are at war with aliens! And they could have massive budgets, and take ages to make because of all the fantastic over-the-top graphics that would get pumped in to them! Yeah, that would be sweet.

Shame we have to endure yet another repetitve title like this instead. Yawn.

I was thinking the same, they seemed to enjoy it a lot more then they thought they would and having huge rallies would be great :D
 
Ah i used to play a lot of table tennis when i was a kid and i was really good! may have to buy this one :)

This does look very cool to me too!

One of my favorite flash games is the table tennis game on www.miniclip.com - where you use the mouse to move the bat... so simple - but amazingly effective.

I can see this game being awesome multiplayer!
 
From what I can make out from the review it sounds pretty cool. Face paced, and all about timing and reactions..

looks like thats one more game to get along with Top spin 2...
