ROG Front panel issue asus mobo

I cannot get the front panel to display time and it wont enter into edit or any other mode. it displays fan speed and cpu MHz, I have installed the software for this device. appreciate any info on this.

It sounds faulty. I've heard many others saying that front panel device isn't the greatest. Return and get another one.

I have heard rumour of "Check the latest firmware of device before attaching to newer Asus boards"

Have you tried that ?
