This card was £1999 only 4 months ago, built in AIO water cooling. Asus top of the range 2080ti

How much is it worth now?

Some guys selling 2 of these for 750 each

Is it worth it for 750?

or is it now a £450 quid 2080ti in fancy outfit

Just thinking by the time they release a ROG Matrix 3080/90 the 4000 series cards might be out, this card was only released on the market like 6 months ago.

Really depends on your use. Just for gaming, maybe £400?

They're still fetching good money tbh on the bay. I got lucky bought a cheapy 2080ti replacing my 1080ti.

Overclocked it and it's in spitting distance of a 3080 in all the games I play and I didn't have to wait three months for it..lol

yeah i saw some benches vs the 3080 and the 2080ti was literally only a few FPS behind

Matrix seemed to have a very limited production run, don't ever recall it being in stock on most sites. Not many reviews of it either.

It wasn't a particularly successful high end card compared to HOF Labs or Kingpin. It's basically a ROG Strix with an "AIO" cooler, although from what I remember reading the thermal results weren't remarkable. It doesn't have any crazy power limits. It's a perfectly good 2080ti of course - but not worth £750imo. Maybe £500-550? It's bios is as follows:

GPU Device Id: 0x10DE 0x1E07 Version: 90.02.30.00.4B RTX2080TI VB Ver 90.02.30.00.AS04 Copyright (C) 1996-2019 NVIDIA Corp. GPU Board Connectors 1x USB-C 2x DisplayPort 2x HDMI Board power limit Target: 300.0 W Limit: 360.0 W Adj. Range: -67%, +20% Thermal limits Rated: 84.0C Max: 88.0C Memory Support GDDR6, Samsung GDDR6, Micron GDDR6, Hynix Boost Clock: 1800 MHz

As you can see, 360W - that's less than the Gigabyte Gaming OC which was available for £1099 on the 2080ti's launch. Nothing wrong with it of course - but I wouldn't go paying over the odds for it. It's a Strix with a different cooler.

Second hand 2080ti are bargain right now

Overclock it and get within 10% of the 3080 in rasterisation and in 1 or 2 years when games are finally able to take advantage of the 3080 you can just upgrade to the 4080.

right now the 3080 looks pretty bad against the 2080ti in today's games, that may change in a year or so but why wait and hope when you can grab a steal right now and save money

Bingo!!

And absoloutely nothing of value will use it for a few years the 4000 will make more sense but sure QUAKE 2!?!!!1

Are you trying to troll? Quake 2 is an example of what is now possible with RT. It's not a mix of rasterisation and RT, it is pure RT. It's playable now at 1440p. The 3070 and probably 3060 will be able to play at 1080p. This is a huge step forward. Engines are being updated to support RT. Fortnight is a great example. But hey, sand, shovel, go for it.
