Ive stuck in the above card today, im hitting 85C without any overclocking when on a decent gaming session.

Ive got 2 fans below blowing onto it, 3 fans in front blowing towards it, my cpu temps are okay, but the temp off this is insane - ive tried it both on silent and regular bios.

Is this a temp to be worried about?

G12 with 240 aio 50C max on normal air was getting about 75c

Set power to 100% as the card will boost higher with lower temps

Also lock voltage to 0.97 in msi scanner it will help with temps and power draw

Am I the only one thinking 85 degree at stock settings, whilst gaming, is a bit high given the other two non GPU fans also blowing on to the card?

Does sound slightly warm to me, Seems to hit low 70's looking at reviews: https://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/asus_geforce_rtx_2080_ti_rog_strix_preview,8.html https://www.kitguru.net/components/...x-2080-ti-strix-oc-o11g-review-1500-beast/11/ on the quiet bios. But then again those are on outside bench's, but would have thought the 5 fans blowing air directly onto the card also would balance it out.

Would be curious as to the temps you see with say side panel open and if they are more inline with what reviewers may see. I would have thought at 85 degrees, you would also be limiting the boost clock speed also so would already be using slightly less power then if boosting higher at cooler speeds.

But then again, not used a Strix 2080Ti in a while and possibly looking at it through rose tinted glass's of my Strix 1080Ti cooler which does very well.

I ramped up the fans and its a lot cooler, i guess i just have to find a balance between noise/cooling. With 5 of the fans on max it topped out at 63C.

Will have a play at the weekend!

For that card i would be tempted to say no. As it has a rather large heatsink you should be seeing around 70-75c with decent case airflow at most.

What case is it? As they need a fair bit of room near the side of the card (where the heat is expelled) from experience.

corsair 680x. but ive all my fans running silently. Initially i had it in the showoff position but the temps were even higher there so ive moved it back to the regular pci slot and the temps came down by about 3C

Definitely not right, my 1080Ti Strix was a stellar card! Maybe the fans are spinning a little slowly? Tried a fan curve? The showoff positions are generally only good for water-cooled cards, temps much worse.

For comparison, my 2080ti (Zotac blower) runs at a peak 68c under full load..the fan curve tops out at 70% speeed. So im happy with that, but it is very very loud, although I use headphones when reaching these temps and gaming, so I can barely hear the fan spinning.

more worryingly ive been having crashes and lockups since i put the new card in, the old msi 2080ti worked fine (albeit it was ridiculously noisy, why i swapped over).
