Hi Guys,

I recently bought an HyperX Alloy Elite 2, what an amazing keyboard and the customer support is one of the best, not just in tech but overall speed and help is really absurd, kudos to them.

Anyway said that, I realized that despite working often from home the numpad makes me have a rather weird position whilst gaming, so I am considering now to buy a TKL, as I just purchased the HyperX and unfortunately not from Amazon so cannot return it, I wanted to stay on a budget, however stuff live the Drevo seem a trash breaking down after days or few weeks of use and Outemu switches seems rather useless poorly designed and with horrible quality.

So...I shortlisted these two above, removing the Corsair as they seem terrible keyboard with lots of rattle and very poor quality (I was surprised by it actually but read way too many reddit so it is a no).

ROG Strix seems nice however they made the terrible mistake to create a non standard bottom row using a pointless larger CTRL key, if something happens to the key or you want to swap them with something else you simply cannot... Also the software from ASUS is something out of someone learning how to code, even my motherboard...lord is horrible, luckily it works with the old Aura software but ASUS really is losing with Armoury Crate, horrible, bloated, unstable... here is the other downside, but...it seems the keyboard can store 5 preset.

Apex seems a bit overpriced for a TKL due of the LCD screen which reading around is rather useless too but....they seem both very solid keyboard (I do have an Asus MB), a bit concerned about some people commenting missing input which for a keyboard would be rather worrying, besides that seems a solid keyboard for £10 more than the ROG Strix. Here the software seems superb which could be a bonus for me over the amateur software provided by Asus.

Both red switches which is a must and watching videos they both seem not to "ping", especially the Apex...which is the other decision factor. Software is something I expect from an RGB keyboard unless is a very very cheap one.

Anyway has experience with these keyboard? If I am correct the Asus is actually brand new...

Xtrfy K4 TKL RGB was too an option as seems quiet, with foam inside, red switches....however it has no software, £90 for a keyboard with no software for me is a no, it has 16.xm colours per key but then you cannot really do anything with it which is a shame, customization is minimal within the keyboard you cannot even change saturation of colours, that would have helped a bit, also no macro whatsoever which can be useful for other things but gaming, imho another missed opportunity.

Ive not got experience with the ROG keybaord. But I do have a Apex 7 TKL. I love it, the RGB lighting is nice and bright, software is nice to use. And the lil OLED screen is nice to put random words on every now and then. Or if the game supports it you can make the screen tell you in-game info or system usages. It comes is different switch options too so you get a good choice depending on what you prefer
