Hi all, I recently purchased this monitor and ordered a sim racing mount/seat etc.

The monitor is brilliant, the colours and refresh is perfect but the light bleed is poor when in a dark room :(

According to the OC website it states that it's VESA mountable, but due to the indentation on the back it's impossible to mount. I've even tried it on an expensive monitor arm to get me by, but the dimensions of the bracket make it impossible to fit flush/flat (the bracket doesn't even fit the small opening).

I've contacted support and had the following response -

https://manuals.coolblue.nl/72/asus-rog-strix-curved-xg43vq.pdf

section 2.3 shows this monitor is VESA mountable and all the details should be shown under this link.

Use only the UL Listed Wall Mount Bracket with minimum
weight/load 28.8 kg (Screw size: M4 x 10 mm).

The PDF also states contents include a VESA kit, but I've seen nothing like that in the box.

Has anybody else successfully mounted this monitor or know of s solution?

It's not exactly cheap and expected it would have come with some sort adapter like other large curved screens.

Cheers

Hi Neil,

I ended up returning it, turns out you have to use the "HEX" bar things in the box (missing from mine).

I did think about getting a replacement but didn't like the idea of the Hex things especially if I wanted to mount it to an arm.

Also spent ages searching for an arm that would fit in the indentation, but non of them are small enough.

Unfortunately its just a very poor design for an expensive monitor , so I purchased a Samsung G9 which came with a flat bracket adapter.

Ah cheers chaparral.
So the vesa bracket doesnt actually fit inside the circle indentation?
Im surprised that it doesnt fit. Is it the corners?
Also where do you get these spacers from? Do they come with the monitor?

E: Nice review here which shows the hex spacers I think!

Yes a lot of mounts will not fit inside due to the corners
The spacers i used came with the different TV/Monitor wall mounts i bought have over the years but you can easily buy spaces on there own from places like the rain forest

Yes that looks like the hex spacers in that youtube clip
( I never even looked to see if my Asus monitors came with something like them hex spacers as i just used the spacers i already had)

Hello Doctord, I am looking to buy this and mount on my arm... may i ask what exactly made this not possible?
Should I avoid if I want to mount to a monitor arm?

The hex spacer are in the video (bottom right), but I wouldn't advise using them with an arm as they can't handle the movement. My old Asus worked with thick washers/spacers and longer bolts on an arm, but this thing has a bigger indentation.

I had mine running at 144hz with no issues, it's a very nice screen except for the usual clouding. Being curved hides the clouds and bleed, you don't even notice it head on.

My honest opinion would be to not mount it to an arm at all, if you really need a screen of this size and want to arm mount it, go for one that comes with an adapter like the Samsung G9.
