This is my replacement monitor that i've had for several months now. The first was RMA'd due to pulsing of the backlight in normal desktop use.

Now this one for a while wouldn't correctly detect video signal unless turned off then on again. This is a documented problem on forums.

NOW it won't even turn on.
What I have to do is unplug the power brick several times then it will come on.

To me the brick is suspect.
I haven't changed any monitor OSD settings.

I would like Asus to give me a brick only, think they will do this?

As the monitor has no dead pixels and an even back light I don't want to return the whole thing!

That's it Rroff, I forgot that it used to come on at night (when the tower was off) and freak the **** out of me when trying to sleep!

At least it came on back then!
Asus were good with the RMA to be fair, here's hoping they're ok this time as well.

Nope Asus said my RMA monitor not covered by any repair warranty and won't give me a brick.
They suggested I contact vendor I.e. ocuk.

I'll ring them next.

If they don't sort this I'll be mad!

I can't get the monitor on at all atm. Why should I have to buy a third party brick?

Rang Asus who said to use my original monitors serial number for RMA application which worked.

However the automated e-mail says to pack up everything!
I rang back saying I just need an ac adapter but the chap says he can't change the protocol. Even suggested I buy my own adapter!
They are £50+! That's if you can find one....

I am happy with my monitor backlight is even and no dead pixels, if they send me a replacement there is no guarantee it will be the same way.

That aside it is so wasteful!

Edit: couldn't sleep and remembered Asus never ask for cables and adaptors on an RMA...
So there should be a spare/new adapter in my monitor box and there was!

So the faulty one is from the first monitor I had and the new one (which works BTW, yay) from the replacement monitor which obviously comes with everything.
