I've had my ROG Swift for just over 3 years now & have had to replace the power brick once already with ASUS within the 1st year.

Now this replacement brick is having the same issue (monitor won't power on unless I power cycle the brick manually but unplugging the cable)

I've been in touch with ASUS support & am waiting on a reply but does anyone know of a suitable power brick that I could use instead?

Curiously mine is still going strong, but it's probably only on for ~4 hours a day and I switch it off when I'm not using it..
*touches wood*

Think that what happened to mine when my power block started playing up..

THat happened to my swift before I needed to replace the brick with Asus. My current one works though ordered a Delta Electronics 19v 4.74A 5mmx2.5mm Adapter to try. Want to see if it cures some brightness fluctuations I can see in the backlighting.

I've just bought the newer PG278QR and wondering if the power supply is also newer version (I am hoping since all of these problems) - I can post a pic later but its square and thin. Looks a bit like a black apple tv box?

Sounds like the issue is the monitor and not the power brick though the official PSU from Asus is pure junk.

Have a look through this thread - especially towards the end:

The monitor is running spot on, once on, but it's the same issue with the power brick as I had before which got replaced under warranty, but I suspect ASUS will tell me to bog off this time.

I've spotted a few of those on EBay and I'll buy one as a replacement too if I get no joy from ASUS. Thanks for the info.

Yeah it's the square Apple TV size brick. They're terrible for reliability it seems, but hopefully later versions of the brick are more reliable.

I replaced mine with a Mean Well GST90A19-P1M. It has been rock solid for over a year, highly recommended it. The specs are identical to the OEM unit but it is a much better product.

I'm like 99% sure they've not revised them but not 100% sure - the last (fairly recent) one I saw was exactly the same revision as my original one.
