ROG Swift PG35VQ!!

I've gone for a 55" OLED TV, gonna give it a try for desktop usage.

I would recommend not using OLED for desktop usage, you can use it for an hour or something and also use it for gaming (remove HUDS if possible), but you can definitely get permanent image burn if you use if as desktop!

Over a month with my OLED now and countless hours of gaming and still no burn in (of which there has been a lot of yellow + red huds, which are the worse offenders), not had any temporary image retention either.

Just be sensible i.e. don't use a ridiculous OLED light setting of 60+% and don't leave the games/desktop running for hours on end every day..... Seen far too many people post saying they have burn in, only to later post their settings and what the content was i.e. 90% OLED light with news channels running for 4+ hours every day :o

Also, be sure to keep the TV away from any sunlight, seems like the heat could be increasing the chance of burn in happening

I very much doubt that will ever happen..

The same as it was never possible to completely stop image retention on plasma displays..

Check out micro led ;)

Pretty much all the perks of OLED but none of the "potential" downsides. Still a long way of from that though :(

I use mine for gaming probably more than my PC and image retention has been a pretty much non issue. I've seen it a few times after a few hours with HUD moving to a complete white screen but not in any normal gameplay and even then it lasts a few seconds.

I wouldn't want to use it as a permanent monitor though for desktop usage. Gaming and TV only I'd say.

You can always just set in game to 21:9 as the black bars are a non issue :p.

+1

Crazy using a 55" display for EVERYTHING. Like I said before, get a monitor for all desktop usage and the odd FPS online game and have the oled at the side for all casual gaming + media related stuff.

Nope, had no such problems (as I took the right precautions).

'Relegated' mine to Living Room TV, I'm a ****-hair from getting an XboxOneX to pair it with and leave PC gaming behind for a bit :D (nothing is exciting me atm with near PC releases).

Likewise, except PS 4 pro for me! :D :p In no rush to get one though so just waiting for a nice bundle deal, hopefully be one when the new spiderman game comes out.

Tbf that does look DAMN epic!! Was thinking of the UHD Bluray player too, BUT the ps4 media app is supposed to play pretty much anything so I can always connect it to a NAS for my media :)
Just to say I dont think the PS4 supports x265 so anything using that such as 4k rips wont play back without being converted to x264 which would be HUGE files. I have found the PS4 very lacking in media playback tbh and Plex has quite a few issues.
