Hi 8 Pack,

Hoping you could help me, I am trying to get my 2500k up to 4.8ghz. I have a watercooled system with fairly good temps so higher voltage should be ok? This cpu only needs to last for 12-18months then I will throw it in a htpc at stock speeds until it dies.

Have the following spec:

2500k
2x 4GB HyperX Genesis Grey DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz
Asus V Gene

I have tried the following settings as a starting point and then thought I would work my way down the voltage but even with the voltage at 1.45v it ran intel burn test once (max temp of 62) without fail and then when I ran it a second time it failed and with Prime 95 it's seconds before BSOD.

VCCSA Voltage: Auto
VCCIO Voltage: Auto
CPU PLL Voltage: 1.75v
Auto PLL Overvoltage: Enabled
PCH Voltage: Auto
VRM Frequency: 350
Duty Control: Extreme
Phase Control: Extreme
CPU Current Capability: 130%
CPU Multi 48 by each core
CPU BCLK: 100
DDR Frequency: 1600mhz
CPU voltage: 1.45v
DDR Voltage: 1.65v
DDR Timings: 9-9-9-27
Spread Spectrum: Disabled
LLC: Ultra High
C3 and C6 Report: Disabled

I have the latest bios, I will have a go with those settings you gave thanks, will also run a memtest.

I managed to do a quick clock to 4.5 when I first installed the board using everything on auto apart from the following.

45 multi by all cores
vcore: 1.36
mem frequency: 1600
Dram: 1.65v
9-9-9-27

The above ran 10 loops of intelburntest fine.

I though it was the same? I got no idea with overclocking I have just started reading guides last few days. This is the current settings that I done when first getting the board as mentioned above everything was a default apart from this:

45 multi by all cores
vcore: 1.36
mem frequency: 1600
Dram: 1.65v
9-9-9-27
