Surprised there is no thread about this game (well nothing came up on search at least!).

This genuinely looks very interesting:

http://store.steampowered.com/app/241600/

It has been at the top of the Steam charts for a day or so (which given that COH2 is just out is no mean feat).

Has anyone played this yet?

I am about to buy it but am interested in people’s opinions of the game.

I'm shocked that more people are not talking about this game, then again I expect most to overlook it without giving it a chance due to how it looks but yea - its an amazing game!

"Each time you die, your child will succeed you. Every child is unique. One child might be colorblind, another might have tourettes-- they could even be a dwarf."

Sounds epic.

This game is stupidly hard and it is made worse by the poor and unresponsive controls. It's also frustratingly random even for a roguelikelike, and there are a number of room layouts that are practically impossible to navigate. I would not recommend this game unconditionally to anyone, and if you don't have a joypad then I would actively advise against buying it.

This game is awesome but stupidly addictive. Maybe the controls aren't great on a keyboard, I haven't tried, but they're excellent using a 360 controller, very sharp and responsive. Yes, it's hard, but that's what makes it satisfying!

Managed to beat the second boss last night using a Barbarian King because I'm bad at platformers and nothing else could survive how often I get hit. :D Although the Paladin would be good too if my reactions with the shield weren't so bad. I'm much better than when I started though and not just because of the upgrades, there's definitely a learning curve although it's a bit steep at first.

Found my first 'Helios' Blessing' last night too, made about 20k gold that run. :D

I have watched this game on youtube and its a retro look indi game, I've been waiting for the summer sales to buy this game as I do think $15 is a bit much for a indi game.
