Right, long story short, opened up laptop to put in wifi card, dropped screw into it somewhere, cant find the screw but i can hear it shake, it shudnt cause any major problems should it?
Ugh
That is a nasty one. With a screw loose somewhere, there is a good chance that it could short something out. Quite typically, I think your best chance would be to take the whole laptop to bits, but it sounds to me like you wouldn't want to do this, for the obvious reasons though
I've got a very old IBM laptop with various screws missing and others kicking around inside which still works; I suspect that its pot luck really.
I ended up taking the thing apart, after shaking it a few times, couldnt find it, so I put everything back and then notice a screw on the floor next to my foot, turns out it fell back out whilst i was shaking it, cheers for the advice!
