Roll up roll up for your vehicular recalls.

Oh.

In markets where salt is used on roads in winter, corrosion may form and propagate into the electronic fan control module and in extreme cases may cause the module to overheat. In rare cases the overheating may be sufficient to ignite the module, surrounding wiring and components.

None, the only fault listed for a V40 is:
18/11/1999 R/1999/100 VOLVO CAR S40 and V40 brake caliper concern 01/01/2000 31/12/2000

Mine isn't from 2000 however, but sep 1996...

20 points on a fault that involves fire
30 points where it involves risk to human life.

Cmon - where are you French car owners eh? :p

26/03/2003 R/2003/014 VW GOLF and BORA brake servo vacuum pipe may crack and leak. 01/02/1998 31/12/1999

Not sure if my car has been in for any recall work. Do I just go into VW and ask them to check for me? And if it does need repairing, is it free of charge?

Some cracking ones, all for happy fun times, what is going to hurt me today!

possibility that deployment of the air bag and seat belt pre tensioners may be delayed

possibility of loss of brake servo assistance

the passenger air bag might remain active when the deactivate mode has been selected

suspension ball joint may disengage

rear damper may become insecure

:D:D:D:D

Fortunatly they seemed to have fixed everything post 2001!

Recall Code: 00-XX-01
Importance: Urgent
Vehicle Years: 1998 - 2010
Description: Volkswagen recommends that all Passat / Golf / Polo and EOS owners proceed immediately to the vehicles point of sale and demand a full refund on the vehicles purchase price. Should dealers refuse to give a full refund the owner is entitled to state a claim with Volkswagen UK, who in turn will send a sales assistant round to the offending Volkswagen dealership and subject the offending sales assistant to a test drive of a 1.4TSI VW golf.

The two mass flywheel can become damaged because of a non- optimally designed through-flow restrictor in the clutch pressure pipe. This can lead to total failure of the two mass flywheel and under unfavourable circumstances a fire.

Quality, good job this is the B6 Passat.

Nothing major, just a couple of handbrake and wiring issues, and:

"there is a possibility of unexpected braking"

Cool

My Vin doesn't seem to be listed

But

Swift 1.3, 1.5 and 1.6 3 door models airbag may deploy inadvertently

SUZUKI Swift boot light may catch fire

SUZUKI Swift rear seatbelt anchorages may fail

I like to think it adds to the erm character of the car lol

Edit.. Just looked in more detail

It has been identified that due to an incorrect routing of the passenger side airbag wiring harness, the potential exists that the passenger side airbag might deploy when the ignition is switched on.

I best warn the gf lol
