Rollei Tripods?

Howdy!

Just wondering if anyone here has any experience of, or information about, Rollei's tripods, in particular the Rock Solid range?

Reviews (in English) are thin on the ground, but their specs are good, and I know they've a good reputation as a company for some of their other gear. But the legs I'm looking at (Rock Solid Alpha XL) are remarkably cheaper than models with similar specs from the likes of Gitzo, RRS etc. So just wondering what the dealio is with them, and if anyone has any info about them, that would be much appreciated!

Have you looked at Fiesol tripods yet? I'm about to marry mine .. 3372 with levelling column .. I've had nothing like it before ..

Yeah, and they looked good. But I couldn't see anything that was tall enough without a centre column. I'll have another look at their website to see if I missed something.

How tall do you want? The first one I clicked on, rock solid alpha XL, is 195cm (6ft 3in).

Yeah, that's the height I'm going for (same height as me). Going to be using it for birds in flight, wildlife etc.
