Well since my computer is crap, well kinda, it can play the games I have now, but I decided to dig this out for a play. I knew it couldn't play on XP for most people, me included, and I dunno what to do to remedy this, I've tried changing the compatability to windows 95 and 98, and get nothing but a send error report message, then nothing else.

Anyone had any similar problems and been able to fix it?

Cheers

Cancel that, I've just installed the first expansion pack, and that seems to have fixed it.

And now, off I go to crash rollercoasters... for fun.

Been years since I played this, i dare not install it again as I would never see the wife and kids again.

RCT3 had a horrible UI. I spent a whole night trying to lay a path to my coaster. Didn't play it after that.

RCT2 doesn't scale well on my monitor. In native the zoom barely zooms in, you have to change the resolution to actually zoom in!!

Played RCT1 to death on the XBox!!!

I want to play RCT + the expansions again now, after that they seemed to go down hill a bit...might install them on my laptop :D

I must be the only one that like RCT 3 :(

I have it sat on my shelf, along with the 2 addons, i cant say ive ever really sat down and tried it, i just dont like the way it looks really. I preffered the childish simple UI, may give it a try though as ive got 2 weeks off work, only so long i can play WOW :p

i liked RCT3

as for being unable to lay paths, i think ALT + arrow keys switched the camera view around

i really got into that game :)

IIRC the problem was it kept on place in them at different heights, if only by a few pixels, thus not making one continuous path. So, the peeps kept on getting stuck.

Making a building was a slow progress of never ending drag and drop. After playing The Sims 2 where both were effortless tasks, it really turned me off the game.

RCT1 and expansions worked fine on xp for me, never had any trouble with it. i have it on a laptop and used to have it on desktop.

ahh yeah i remember now having to elevate most of my queues and using the 'land up/down' tool on a mass scale (wasting tons of money)
