Rolling back a file (overwritten by mistake.)

Just done an XP reinstall and installed Firefox. But ooooops...overwrote my old profile backup instead of restoring it (yes, I'm a muppet.)

So now I need something that can "reverse" or "rollback" the file to the previous proper backup. Does such a utility exist that can do that??

nope - most of the programs I seen only work when its been running on the system for a while and it keeps copies of prevs verisons. Shadow volume copy is the greatest thing on vista and works on windows xp but the machine needs to be connected to a windows 2003 server for it to work...

Yeh that's kinda what I thought.

Bummer, that means I've got to rebuild the machine I've just stripped as the only other backup copy is on the old drives I had in RAID0 on the old box. And I've already given away half of the stuff I'll need to build it.

Oh well, that's another evening gone this week.....
