rolling back sp3 to sp2

hey guys

just finished a fresh reinstallation of windows and as its an old lappy sp3 is really slowing it down....any ideas how i roll back to sp2??

There is no way that SP3 would have any more of a performance hit than SP2, and in all honesty neither should have a negative effect.

how do i go about finding what is slowing it down??

its an old gateway lappy, with 250mb ram...intel celeron M cpu 1.46ghz

i was thinking about defragging, what do you guys think??

Add some more Ram - 256M will really cause problems. 512 is a realistic minimum, 1GB would be far better. Sodimms are not that expensive and would help a lot here.

Cut out the rubbish using msconfig.

And also, use http://www.blackviper.com/ (although, it appears to be down at the moment) for Service Configurations.

Look at this site and follow his instructions, defrag and make sure all your drivers are up to date. In all honesty, unless you get more RAM, you will have a slow laptop.
