Hi guys,

Is it possible to rollout software to clients on a network without an .msi file?

What if I only have an .exe file etc. Is there any way of converting?

Cheers!

Thanks for the reply mate; basically I've just setup a simple 2003 server with 20 xp clients to teach dtp. I've been given a load of instructional cd's that I'd like to share with students and I've scoured the discs and I only have .exe's to work with... I don't really want to start having to go round every machine and install them myself :(

You can use winrar to create a sfx archieve and then create a batch or vb script or something along the sort to push it down or you can just use exe to msi converters, http://www.qwertylab.com/FreeTools.aspx.
Cool. The convertor would probably be easiest ;)

Do you know how I'd go about converting a software install that had other files as well as the .exe?
