hi all

Just wondering if anyone can recommend a nice romantic restaurant in London. Basically got two days to take my girlfriend somewhere, but not to sure of romantic places. Was thinking a restaurant on one day and maybe a day trip out of London (of course got no idea about that lol).

Not too bothered about cost :)

I can think of things to do, like a weekend in Paris or Rome, a couple of days in the Lake District etc...but at this moment it's not possible :(

thanks, they both look good.

Just want to spend a romantic day with her...Brighton seems good lol

Bear in mind Brighton is the destination of choice for a dirty weekend... ;)

If you want a good hotel in Brighton, try The Drakes or Hotel du Vin.

huh...only thing dirty in our relationship are my socks lol. She likes parks, and if it's a nice day, how about Hampstead Heath? There's deer there aswell, so that's lunch sorted too.

You could try getting a table at the Ivy as it's great spotting the stars in there. The only prob is that the tables are a bit close together.

That would be nice, but we have to leave around 7:30ish...

uh...I feel really dumb for asking this, but what's the difference between the OXO Tower Restaurant and the Brasserie? :o

Le Poule Au Pot in Sloane Square is reputedly the most romantic restaurant in London, and having been there just on Saturday night, I can say it is rather lovely indeed.

I hear the OXO Tower is only good for the view, and not much else...

Oi!!!!!!!!! :p

ha ha ha... There are some lovely places to eat in Hove - quieter than Brighton and some nice bars.

You could pop into Brighton for some shopping, then a romantic stroll on the promenade/pier (grab a belgian waffle at the end of the pier) then go for a meal in Hove.

That way you stay away from most of the stags and hens and the rest of chavvy West St!

Or there is a cute cafe in soho just infront of Oxford Street - mediterranean cafe http://mediterraneancafe.co.uk/ I thought it was romantic anyway and quite reasonable and the food was great. :)

Have a good time!

Forget The Ivy, get a lunchtime booking at Gordon Ramsey's Hospital Road. It's a lot easier to get than dinner and is fantastic food.

Seconds hotel du Vin, it's very exquisette, as BB has said, western road and north road = charver city.

What type of food do you and your girlfriend like, would be easier to give reccomendations if you decide to come down here.

hmm...certain comments could have been left out...I feel the rage coming

:p

Anyway, basically it would have to be seafood or vegetarian food. She likes pasta. Something small, cosy, candle lit would be ideal. Ended up in a place like that a few months ago, a little Italian place around piccadily circus - she really liked that.

'Maggiore's Restaurant' anyone?
