Well ladies and gentlemen it has come to this! I need advice on wheres romantic to eat in the Bournemouth Area. I have heard one or two recommendations from people like Tiien Thai and La Gondola but I thought I should put it to the community and hope theres enough of you chaps (or chappettes) to help me out here!
I am aiming for candles, cosy, around jan 1st - 5th to avoid xmas.
Any suggestions welcome!

I went to 1812 recently, found it good. A bit poncy though.

Whatever you choose, use tablepouncer (50%) off all food orders.

Heard good things about Tiien Thai, but never been.

Went to a place called 'the crab' when i was there. Was decent. Might be worth looking into.

The Jetty in Mudeford/Christchurch Harbour if it's not too far away. Really good food and a great view of the Harbour but can be pricey.
My brother really rates 1812 but I'm not sure if you could call it romantic.
Also heard good things about Edge.

As holymonk said definitely check out the offers on tablepouncer nearer the time.

Ahhh yeah so good choices here to look up. The problem is I would be booking in advance as its a romantic xmas gift (an invitation certificate to dinner with the partner) so I wouldnt be able to play it by ear on the evening, more a case of hoping an offer comes up on the day :p

Like someone else said The Jetty in Christchurch is about best in local area, also Splinters in Christchurch very good, ask for a booth table or cellar room and you pretty much have private dining

Theres a surprisingly large amount of locals on here! Didnt realise hehe. I've looked up the recommendeds, The Jetty does look very nice... Shame at this time of year dinner time it will be dark. Would be nice to intersect the sunset or somesuch.

Cafe shore is ok, it's expensive and the service isn't great. Better in the summer when you can look over Poole harbour. Very showy and gets the footballers wives, I've watched a couple of them try and it eat mussels wife a knife and fork!

If you can get to Poole there is a really nice fish restaurant called Storm, recommend that.
