Rome 2 : Total War

a lot of people are complaining about it on TWcentre though sayings its morbid and that they dont think they can enjoy the game now:rolleyes:
The mind boggles at what some people take offence at! how can a gesture like this be construde as anything other than noble of creative assembly? besides it's a war game where every battle leaves hundreds of bodies lying on the battlefield.

Sorry to slightly de-rail but seeing the above comments about Shogun 2 so cheap I thought i'd grab it but on GMG it looks like the deal is off or Shogun has been removed as its £24.99 - 20% discount but nowhere near £8. Am I right in assuming this deal has ended and if so whats the cheapest place to grab it now or is GMG still the cheapest with the discount?

Cheers.

Yeah, you missed it mate. You'd have to shop round I think STEAM is the same price as GMG.

It's a steam code anyway so buy from GMG. I doubt you would get it for less than £24.99 minus the 20% anywhere else.

There's usually a Steam sale at this time of year, no? Total War games are a fairly common offer on Steam and GMG anyway, so unless you're in a rush, wait. If you are in a rush, buy retail. The disc version of Shogun 2 is available for under a tenner, or the GOTY for ~£25 (contains Shogun 2, Rise, Fall and all of the DLC, bar the Blood Pack).

Zavvi have the disc version for £7.95 with free P&P...

You can buy the complete packs including all DLC for cheap on disc, you just gave to order/go buy it. It even skips the download as it instals off disc (appart from updates of course).

I've seen Empire & Napoleon double disc set with ALL DLC in a high-street game store (I'm sure you can guess which) for about £10-15

That's a good deal, I do have EMPIRE tho, gonna skip NAP, not enough time really.

Napoleon was wicked. Gunpowder done (mostly) right - it's the game that gives me hope for Empire II actually being something worth playing.

The more I read about Rome II, the more I am utterly convinced that Shogun II was more of a side project for CA. A massive amount of work seems to have gone in to Rome II, while Shogun II was a bit bland and simple (and irritating).

I played Rome and Medieval a lot, but didn't get along so well with the other new games (Empire/Shogun). Hopefully I will be suckered into playing Rome II just as much as I played the first one!

On the one hand I'm really looking forward to this. On the other, I've still got every Total War title since Empire still to play through, not to mention mods!

Only done Medieval II, all the Kingdoms campaigns and Stainless Steel mod so far. All were immense. Tried getting into Empire a few times, but kept getting sidetracked and playing other stuff. Think I might make it next on my list once I'm done with Killing Floor, Skyrim and Far Cry 2.

I loved empire/napoleon as well as medieval2 and rome 1. Shogun2 however just didnt grip me at all. I found it tedious and boring and lacking... variety? I dunno. I was excited for it but it just didnt sit well despite prefer the sword bow and spear combat to gun lines (which i still love.

Rome 2 however is shaping up to be a monster. Cant wait. Rome, medieval and empire ages are my favourite ones by a long shot. Offering unique tactics and game play. and brilliant settings.

I guess I found Shogun like fighting over a bridge. where as the european and americas maps have choke points, wide battlefields, ocean chokes and vast seas. etc etc. Lovely.

Also ... cmon... romans... hell yeah!
