With Empire Total War now out I thought that I would revisit Rome Total War and give that another play through. I had uninstalled it before, so I went to install it again. Got through disk 1 ok, put disk 2 in and got half way through that before I got an error message something like:
'Error 1305. Error reading from D:\Setup\data\data\fmv\wonders\ wonder_colossus.wmv. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.'
Having looked around it seems that normally comes with a scratched disk or dirty disk but the disk looks fine to me. The file in question is a 15 second video clip showing the colossus when you gain its use as a wonder, so hardly a vital part of the game. Is there any way to install the game without the file?
I'm sure I read that you can copy all the files from the disks onto the hard drive and then install the game off the hard drive. Is this possible and if so how do you do it?
I know I could just buy the game again but for such a small error on the disk I would rather not.
Thanks in advance for any help.
