I just wondered what peoples views were on this? since most of the snooker world has been in uproar about it.

A brief rundown for those who haven't heard, he could have made a 147 break but chose instead to pot a pink instead of a black resulting in a 146 because he felt that the 10,000 pound prize for a maxiumum was too stingy.

Since there are so many mini/non-ranking tournaments now there is a rolling 5,000 pound prize and because Neil Robertson made one only two tournaments ago it was standing at 10,000.

My opinion is that I can certainly understand why Ronnie wanted to make a point since afaik Robertson won 40,000 pound for making his 147, why should Ronnie only get a fraction of that for the same achievement? surely it would be better and more fair to just have one big pot of money and share it equally among all 147 makers at the end of each season?

Live 147's are a much more regular occurrence now though since there are many more tournaments, so 147k is probably too much now... but one of the arguments aimed against Ronnie is that the crowd were denied seeing something amazing, if that's still the case then the pay should be as such. It should also be the same amount for everyone and not this 5k rollover nonsense.

I think some bookies payed out anyway.

The prize money was 4k for the highest break and 10k for a 147. I'm wondering what happens if there are two 147's in a single tournament though, is the pot shared or does the second 147 maker get nothing?
