Hi Guys

We had a company come in last year to do some landscaping in our back garden and said that wet look on the newly laid black lime stone would look great, however it appears that Ronseal isn't as good we we/they thought and it has to be applied over the hottest and driest days possible, its rained that day after they put it on the 50sqm and it appears the wet has come back up and got trapped behind the slabs sealant. I contacted the company we used and they have said it must be the product and to go back to the manufacturer (cowboys.... won't be using them again!) I've contacted Ronseal and good enough out of them they sent me a pallet of cleaner and satin finish but the cleaner did nothing even though I scrubbed and used my Karcher jet wash to try and clean it off. I'm happy to use something stronger but not sure what options we have. I spoke to a company and they charge £30 per square metres which would cost me close to £1,500.00.

I'd be happy for it to go back to the normal lime stone color and texture if I can find the right stripping product and may but a stronger jet wash?

Any help/advice would be great!

Probably missed the opportunity now with the amazing weather we've had for the last few days but I'd have been inclined to apply the satin finish over whats already there and let it "bake" in this hot weather. May not have been the pristine finish desired but certainly would be more even.

Looks nice as is
I say that to the wife! daily... :)

But I have heard of Auqa-Mix sealing & coatings remover or Mira strip, I'm happy to do the hard work in getting it off...

Currently dealing with a similar issue on my slabs where a sealant has failed.

Lithofin Wax Off

The 1L will likely do maybe 6 of your largest slabs, give it a try and if it works you'll probably need to get a few more or the 5L.

Apply liberally, agitate the surface with a stiff brush, leave for about 20-30min (don't do it on a hot sunny day), and then power wash off.

Watch your run off as you'll be washing away solvent (watch out for plants, grass etc)

Might heck that out on a test patch

Thanks gents

Grouting looks ok to me, hasn't spilled out and covered the tiles and all neatly in the grooves, all still there in one piece and not broken up, just needs a good clean is all.
