Very new to this game, however i am enthusiastic to finish my build and rice up the case a little!
i have just bought a corsair 450D and have all the internal componants ready to fit.

i was looking at getting some extra fans for the top of the case as there are 3already installed on the case.

i was just wondering if you can fit any fan to the case or if some fans can only fit certain cases...

i was looking at these:

just wondering if these would fit without adapting the case or fans too much?

thanks in advance!

Normally, 3-pins are used as regular intake/exhaust case fans, and 4-pin PWM are used on CPU heatsinks/rads. You only have a limited amount of true PWM fan headers on motherboards. The headers for CPU_Fan will be true PWM.

The 3-pins will run at full whack (unless you use reducers or fan controllers), so something like 1000-1200 RPM is the sweet spot for case fans, but it depends on their quality as well.

ah brilliant thanks guys.
im putting this on hold as i only have one out of the three fans working at the moment, which isnt a problem currently while im setting it up, but if when i start gaming then ill need to sort this first before adding pretty colours ;)
iv been looking at some variable speed fans, as i have the choice of 3x120mm, or 2x140mm. i was going to opt for the larger fans so i could run at a slower/quieter speed, so a controller was the next thing on my list!
