Rooney - 2 B Sold

City's future at the top level of football is in more doubt than Man Utd's, namely because a) they've never actually been there b) if they want to play in the CL they have to stop spending. Without the ability to spend further, they're nothing besides a joke club with a bunch of mercenaries like Adebayor, Rooney and Balotelli.
You dont think that we have people who deal with this? no your probably right..a man who has made around 20bn through investments will spend around 1bn only to get to 2012? and be told "Your not allowed in",
City will be allowed in the CL.

I think it's dangerous to take it as a given. UEFA set up these rules specifically to combat clubs exactly like City, why would they even bother if they were going to let these teams in?

City will get in, yes, but they won't be spending as much money, which is really all City have at the moment.

Such a shame what this league and game is becoming with the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea. It's really getting bad.

It's been the same for years just with different clubs. fans of big clubs like yourself don't give a **** when your the biggest club raping players from other teams.

Flash the cash to the agent, let him know what he could be on and the player is on his way to your club. Not once have I heard a fan of a top club moan about lack of loyalty in players until it's their club becoming a feeder for another big club.

Never heard an Arsenal fan how disgusting it all was that Sol showed no loyalty, ran his contract down and moved for free. He kept the club hanging on until nothing could be done.

Manu have always tempted players away from clubs with the lure of a bigger wage and of course winning stuff and playing for a better side. Now the tables are turning and football is suddenly taking a turn for the worse.

Suddenly Rooney is a unloyal chav and a disgrace off the pitch while Giggs is a loyal hero. A player that was always being linked through his agent to Italy anytime his deal got close and was not a saint off the pitch.

The only difference between Ronaldo and Rooney is they agreed to sell Ronaldo, he didn't have to go to the press because his deal wasn't running out. Had Ronaldo been in a situation where he had 18 months left and wanted to go to real madrid the same scenario would have played out. He would have had to turn down a deal and get the move.

City WILL NOT, be allowed to compete in the champions league by spending money the club does not make.
Its as simple as that, it is the very reason the rules are being bought in.
The will be no gazillion pound sponsership deal from his brothers airline acting as a front to get the money in.
There will be no buying feeder clubs as a front for spending the cash.

Its the ultimate Irony, you will be sat on all that cash, and not be able to spend it.

And you still wont of won anything.

Ok so you know all about our future plans...you really are deluded if you think that our owners haven't thought about the rules that are coming into place and havent got plans on what we will do about it.

You truely do believe that with their billions of pounds and companies of law firms that they wont be able to work out a way around the rules?

It's not a case of trying to sneak in false revenue and getting away with it using loopholes. UEFA will go through club accounts and verify what is genuine and what isn't, if it's made up it doesn't count towards their total. It's not hard to see when somebody is trying to cheat their way around rules, especially in accounting which has to be tracked.

Can't City etc just have an executive box at the stadium that they charge £100million per game for the owners brother to use?

Surely there will be ways about the new rules.

Maybe but they just need to invoke the spirit of the rules as well as the letter. It's their competition they can allow who they like in. They've constructed these rules with the full support of all the big clubs. Man city probably weren't involved in the process.

Mind you I suppose this is getting off topic.

Yeah, the big clubs with the infrastructure in place to already be earning shedloads of money. Really 'fair'. All it's doing it letting those at the top solidify their position. Nothing more. Not a damn thing fair about it.

you're allowed to invest in long term infrastructure as much as you like. nothing is stopping anyone increasing revenues.

Not really much of an advert to entice Rooney to stay tonight was it? Stay and you too can play in boring 1-0 wins where you sit around up front on your own and watch a five man midfield pass it from side to side before losing it :(

I know, it improved considerably once Obertan came on, he looked sharp and could do with some practice.

Why SaF doesn't try this (at least against weaker opposition) is beyond me -

----------------VDS---------------

----Rafael - Ferdinand - Vidic - Evra----

Obertan/Bebe - Fletcher - Anderson/Carrick - Nani

--------Berbatov - Hernandez--------

With a decent attacking midfielder and perhaps a decent striker to swap around, thats not really a bad side at all.

I'd be shocked if Fergie is ever that attacking again, that's like a good 4 players that can pass the ball forwards and actually attack.

Remember when we used to thrash the likes of Brondby, now we're content to "play it safe" for a 1-0 win :(

Cracking post, Man Utd and Spurs coming in for our best players, players that actually won us games and go to big teams but its ok its only WIGAN

Loving all the crying and calling Rooney, loyalty in football is long gone, reason why Giggs and Scholes stay its because they are at MASSIVE club and are still fit and in happy to play a bit part and why would they leave to go to a team that is never going to win anything.

Listening to 5live before the Inter game and they had some guy from the supports club saying he believes in what Rooney is saying about future players etc. and that the Glazers should sell now to the fans while Man Utd still has big value.

Pity that Rooney feels he has to go another club but I guess that is a sign of the times and a sign of the type of player he is. It is why he is a good player and not a great one - Maradona would have gone **** it won the title and the world cup to boot whether his team mates were any good or not.

I personally think it is a sad to see Man Utd and Liverpool in the situation they are in. It is not good for English football and it is not good for the fans. Guess like I say it's a sign of the times. And because of that the English game does not hold the magic it once had in my eyes - I much prefer the way the German league is run.

Rooney can say what he wants about personal ambition but with his antics all around I am not overly impressed with the bloke. Part of a club reaching those heights is that all the players have to chip in and perform as a team and not a bunch of individual performances which is something he seems to not be bothering to do. For a lad who professes to love the game for the games sake he seems to have forgotten team and love of the game. At least Ronaldo worked his *** off and tried when he knew he was off.
