Rooney - 2 B Sold

As much as I like Rooney as a United fan. As far as Im concerned he ca get lost now. I honestly don't understand his reason for wanting to leave?

If its to go abroad because of the press then fair enough. An easier option would have been to stop ******** prostitutes. At lest be man enough to stand up to your own mistakes.

Er, money?? You must have worked out how football works! Offer a chav a lot of money and they will do anything.

Could this push SAF into closer retirement? Surely if he goes, Glazers have to realise they need to spend big, big money?

Also, if he goes overseas....hes screwed surely - he can barely speak English, let alone spanish/italian or something!

I think SAF really saw Rooney as one of his legacies to United.

I think a lot of us saw Rooney as one of those players that would be a main staple in our team for a long, long time. It wasn't a major surprise when Ronaldo left, when Tevez left... but this is pretty freaking shocking.

It's like Beckham all over again.

When he's sold, do United fans expect to see all the cash re-invested in a replacement/ the team? [honest question]
Because they didnt set a good precedent with the Ronaldo fee.

Everyone saying SAF looked genuinely hurt and upset with what he was saying, said they'd never seen him like that before.

Interview with MUTV on manutd.com talking about it.

Quotes:

I had a meeting with the boy and he reiterated what his agent had said. He wanted to go. I said to him, ‘Just remember one thing: respect this club.’ I don’t want any nonsense from you, respect your club.

What we’re seeing now in the media is disappointing because we’ve done everything we can for Wayne Rooney, since the minute he’s come to the club. We’ve always been there as a harbour for him. Any time he’s been in trouble, the advice we’ve given him – I’ve even been prepared to give him financial advice, many times. But you do that for your players, not just Wayne Rooney. That’s Manchester United.

No player bigger than MUFC.

Its all quite sad really for united at the moment. We have got a **** owner who doesnt seem to give a flying **** about the club, a massive debt that threatens to swallow the club in a few years. A transfer budget that is laughable and one more of our star players is leaving.

Bad day.

Welcome to Liverpool 2007 - 2010.

Wow. I've never seen a player decide they want to go, just like that. Either he's had a massive offer made to him under the table, or his head isn't on right.

Stan Collymore was saying on Twitter and talkSport over the weekend that he has been offered £500,000 at City. That's probably swayed him.

Life contract my arse. Bye Wayne.

See this is the bit I really don't understand

Is the door still open if Wayne changes his mind?

Of course. David’s prepared to offer the best terms possible for any player in the country. We realise and recognise the quality of the player, that’s why negotiations were started early summer, two years before his contract was up, to extend that contract. And also extend at the behest of the player itself. He said he wanted to stay for life. We were honouring that request from Wayne to stay at the club, at the club he loved. He said the best thing he’d ever done was to sign for Manchester United. So David was prepared, with the discussions with our owners, to offer Wayne the best contract that anyone could have in the country.

My view on the club, as a whole.

Rooney leaving won't kill us, big players have left us before, bigger players than Wayne Rooney, and we have still carried on.

The day SAF leaves is the day I really fear.

As much as I dislike Manchester United as a fan of Chelsea....

...Wayne Rooney does not deserve to stay at a club with the stature and prestige of Utd.

Let him go to City, get paid millions and see him flounder in mediocrity.

Like mentioned previously, he'll go on the path to self destruction now

The last thing an idiot like that needs is £500k a week. He needs someone like Fergie to keep him under control. He's probably the only reason he is where he is today

ah right, i thought we bought Valencia for 17mill and some other expenditure. sure we didnt spend 80mill but we didnt just bank it all either.

According to some here, that's the day some are looking forward to! :p

If SAF was right about him trying to get Villa, there must be the cash waiting for a huge signing at least, but who? Torres? I mean he'd probably leave but would they accept a bid now there is new owners? Trade for Ronaldo?! :p

Those people that believe SAF should be gone need not speaking for, as they are clearly off their rockers.

SAF made Wayne Rooney, as has done with so many other players, that is something no one can deny.
