Rooney - 2 B Sold

Because they still could buy Torres to replace Rooney?? :D

Nah more because we are so bad that there is no 'demise' of Utd to find funny. They could finish 17th and probably still be above us.

Torres will go to City or Barca next summer. He looks burned out Michael Owen style now.

Whose got michael owen now though ;)

Now we play the waiting game and he will be ours in 4-5 years.

Wish we'd have signed van der
vaart. Although no replacement he'd have softened the blow at least a little bit if he was playing for us like he is for
spurs.

I hope this time we learn from the Ronaldo mistake and get cash + players from whoever we sell to. I'd happily take Benzema + Diarra + cash for example. Otherwise the team will suffer massively as we won't be able to bring quality replacements in.

Only viable option if the club is going to even attempt to stay competetive (although I think Valencia was a great aquasition, Utd should have just bought Sneijder in the same summer)

i will be selling him in my fifa 11 manager mode when i get home :p

I've tried selling him for 3 seasons in Fifa 11 manager but no one is even interested in him. :p

As a united fan, I say sell him and buy another striker. Buy Thomas Müller from Bayern, he is young and has lots of potential.

Muller will likely never leave Bayern, certainly not soon, it's not like Bayern need the money, or like selling their best German players!

Seeing as the prostitute strory broke in September and united knew about Rooney leaving in august it has nothing to do with the British press.

Broke in September doesn't mean he didn't know it was out and leaking around or that she was looking to cash in already. They could have full well known it was coming, he's been in the press and hounded since he scored his first prem goal, and even before then. He got hounded over the other prossies he's banged.

The story not breaking till a little after doesn't mean anything basically.

Rooney, refuses to sign a contract, has catagorically stated he wants out, his price plummets, massively, Utd will get back what they can, the only positive is that at least a few clubs should want him so it won't be rock bottom prices. Benzema's getting paid a buttload to barely bother doing any work at Real and hasn't really complained, they also spent a lot and will want to recoup a decent amount, he's not on a short contract.

Diarra, not sure what his contract situation is like, wants to play, hasn't said he wants out, is VERY good, young, worth a decent amount.

Rooney + cash for Benzema + Diara to be honest. Honestly UTd will be VERY lucky to get 20mil from him, maybe a lot less.

In reality no one will know the truth, did he really ask for City type wages and decide he was off, was it wanting to get away from prossie stories before they got out, who knows, I reckon its the money and Fergie/Glazers correctly telling him where to stuff a 130k+ wage demand.

I am in two minds as he is a good player and signing him just to do one over on utd would be worth the fee ;) but then i see Tevez on fire and can see Balotelli will be a good player..
Though what Sheikh wants he gets and Rooney in a City shirt on Fifa 12 would be incredible marketing...never mind the amount of shirts we would buy with-fergie sign him up fergie fergie sign him up.
I can however see him at Inter Milan seeing as they are really low on top strikers now there is no Balotelli,Obinna etc

Rumour has it, City are trying to avoid the new rules by buying a lower league and / or foreign club with no chance of european competition. Buy players for insane cash -> to 'small' club. Loan for 6 months to City (Free) -> Transfer to City (for peanuts).
Only expenditure then is Wages, and with no transfer fees at all, they can spend a lot on them.

Wages will cost City more than the transfers, they need income to match their outgoing wages or will be in trouble.

That will almost certainly involve some other corporation in Dubai sponsoring City for 150mil a year, which surprisingly means their revenue exceeds their outgoings. The other real possibility is insane season ticket prices that due to some offer the fans get 90% cashback on their season ticket, thereby massively inflating income from tickets sold. No one really knows how Uefa want to regulate it.

Its likely to hurt Utd a lot more than it hurts City.

A known user of hookers, doubt he'll be on the cover of fifa again. Even brewers don't want to sponsor him.

Really shocked at the news unlike Ronaldo who always said he wanted to play for Real Rooney has never hinted that he wanted to join any other club. Not sure I could stand seeing Rooney play for Chelsea or City but tbh it's highly unlikely that we would sell him to another Premier League team.

Questions I have on the whole subject are;

1- if we knew he wanted away in August why not sell him at the start of the season?
2- if he's wanted to leave since August what happened between him having his best ever season for us and then to make him want to leave?
3- As I said earlier Ronaldo always wanted to join Real so if Rooney wants to leave where exactly does he want to go?
4- Just why? Why could he possibly want to leave? We finished just 2 points off winning the title last year so it's not like we're an Arsenal or Liverpool.

Whole thing just stinks of him wanting more money which in itself raises a question if we didn't even get as far as negotiating a wage for him.

The optimist would look at it and consider his present form, his personal life seemingly spiralling out of control and say now would be a good time to sell but unlike Gazza I think everyone can see that if he sticks at it his form will return.

Moving forward like when we sold Ronaldo who is out there that we could buy to replace him?

Worrying times for us United fans, VDS, Scholes & Giggs ending their careers and now our only genuine World Class player wanting out seems everything is falling into place for City to dominate in the coming years :(

Thought he was a winger? That's where i saw him a lot for Germany.

'I can see Balotelli will be a good player'

Possibly, but you cant know that, especially in the premier league.
I dont know for sure but i just have a feeling he will succeed :)

Well he was used this year and the game came out after the stories broke so
