Rooney's Derby Goal

I went to see Everton at Goodison when he was there and he was by far the best player on the pitch, by MILES.

It's unspoken that he played for Everton cos they are/were one of the Premiership's 'lesser' sides. Also, he left them quite shamefully tbh...

Yeah, I use to play five a side with a bloke that went to Everton reserve/youth games around 2000/1 and said Rooney was a name to watch out for late was like yeah whatever, they saw him on tv was like,

Oh don't be ridiculous, there is no way he was better then.

He was 16 then and dancing around the best teams ever to have played in the premier league. Now he's a shadow of that. Did you watch the world cup last year, or all 6 (SIX) goals he's scored this season?

He was WAY better then.

His goal against Newcastle was definitely better, it was an unbelievable strike and came off the back of having a word to the ref.

The derby goal today was a very good goal but it's far from being one of the best goals ever, as I've read today in a few places.

It's not even the best overhead kick ever, let alone the best goal ever!

The world cup last year where he was played as a solo striker (Heskey does not count) ahead of one of the worst teams at the world cup? With no service at all? Stick Van Nistelrooy at his peak at the front of that team and he would have done no better.

Dancing around the best teams? With 17 goals in 77 games at Everton? Let me remind you that he scored 34 in 44 last season. Better at Everton? Like **** he was. He has embarrassed some of the best defenders in the world at United at the highest levels of football.

He was better at Everton than he is NOW. In front of a MUCH better side.

EDIT: Last year was supposed to be England's year. The best side for YEARS!

Aye, nothing to lose lad with every to gain once a blue always a blue ;) , his hat trick at OT in CL was classic, tbh money does things to people, drive goes, back in October he wanted to leave Man United gets new contract now hes scored 5 goals, sad. No doubt that banging that chick from Bolton story has ruined his season and his outburst at the WC on the pitch.

Exactly. He's only happy when he's got the money to go conkers deep in a granny hooker! ;)

Good goal.

He's scored some really top draw goals, I think that the goal against Newcastle really stands out :)

It was a very good goal. It was not, however, the best goal ever, the best goal in the premier league, Rooney's best goal or the best overhead kick ever. Too much hysteria over an underperforming player, scoring a 'decent' goal, in an important match against their closest rivals and a championship contender.

I think it's more then a "decent" goal.

The only over head kick of note that I could remember was that Rivaldo dude that scored that one at that Barcelona club.

Rooney hasn't had a good season when compared to his form last season, still he's getting better with more games and looks to be hitting a bit of a goal scoring streak.

Where has anyone in here said its the best goal ever? or in the league?

You could argue maybe Rooney's best (personally don't think so but these are tend to be based on opinions and are subjective)

Rivaldo's was good. This was better:

It's not Rooney's best. He's scored better for both ManU and Everton.

The goal against Newcastle was bloody good idd, but this was better.

Who said it was the best goal ever .... Gazza v Scotland was better :D

This goal is his best ever and will probably be best goal of the season. Try doing both goals and see which one you find easier to pull off.
