Rooting HTC One S

Hi guys,

just about to root my phone; got to the bit where i'm submitting my ID token and it says you need to have the android sdk installed; the one it links that i've downloaded doesn't actually install, it just runs... is this right? obviously don't want to get this wrong and screw up my phone

You don't need the full SDK, just fastboot.exe

ok so i want to remove the fb app from being a system app as greenify says it can't do its thing with it... any ideas?

I use Clean Master which can uninstall system apps if your rooted using the App manager.

Titanium backup can remove it or convert it to a user app

for some reason facebook doesn't give me that option, instead it says something like 'add updates to rom'

Do you need the pro version of titanium backup for that? You could use a root file explorer and delete the facebook apk from the system/app folder and then reinstall it from the market.

i tried that, but all it did was show that the app needed to be uninstalled from the market (which i obviously couldn't do) and would crash the facebook.something.apk when i tried to back it up... restarted the phone and it let me install it again and bizarrely it's come up with the option to send it to system, so i'm guessing it's in userland now :confused:
