Ferrari has confirmed that it has hired veteran designer Rory Byrne, architect of the winning Benetton and Ferrari cars of the Michael Schumacher era, to work on its next F1 car, which will be to 2014 turbo rules.

This is the biggest new of the 2014 era so far, and a major coup for Ferrari. Even if it's just gives the current design team a bit of a feel good factor.

At 70 years old I'm not sure how much of an impact he can have, but it certainly be interesting.

I didn't realise that Ferrari called him to help turn around the 2012 car.
