Is it just me but is Rosie Jones an aweful comedian?
I know she has Cerebral Palsy so good on her for trying but comedy is all about delivery, timing and quick wit. Unfortunatly she has none of this from what i've seen of her.

I have a feeling its mainly sympathy laughs for someone with a disability.

If she wasnt disabled but had the same jokes and timing, do you think she would be famous?

Id never heard of her but just watched a 6 minute stand up.

I admire anyone that can take the P out of themself like that and i guess i did laugh a few times but yeah Pity laughs tbh.
WHICh is fine.... But it was very organised and planned..... Still i did laugh.. not someone i would say id care on following.
Ive been watching a lot of Jimmy Carr recently lol that guy just acts like a c word and its great.

In small doses it's fine - it is just she crops up a lot on BBC and shows like 8 Out of 10 etc.

I put her in the same category as Jo Brand "lol I'm fat" except she is "lol I'm disabled". It isn't difficult to get a laugh...

It’s like that other fellow who constantly uses his blindness for laughs. Although he is actually pretty funny

Yeah FOTM comedians seem to get bounced between shows until you get sick of em. I can totally see the BBC milking the **** out of her.

I think she can be quite fun doing a little 5 minute bit as part of a show, can't imagine paying to watch a whole performance if she was the only / main act though.

Comedy taste can vary a lot person to person though, so hard to judge!

This thread has already happened

Where is it? Was it deleted.

I actually can't stand her on panel shows like 8 out of 10 cats.

I'm sure she's a good writer and actor, but struggling to hear what she's saying and the time it takes to tell a joke just absolutely kills it for me, I have never laughed at anything she has said.

Jo Brand can be funny though, that's an unfair comparison.

Don't find her funny, although I suppose that could just be down to not understanding a good 90% of what she is saying - as others have said delivery and timing are generally what separates a good comedian from a bad one and she just doesn't have either for me.

I'll be honest, I rarely watch TV now so didn't know who she was and had to look up some of her stuff on youtube.

No, I don't find her funny personally. But I have to admire and respect her a lot. It is 1000x harder for her to stand up on stage and try to make people laugh than it ever would be for any of us. Good luck to her.

But to answer the OP, no I don't. And yes we are all going to hell for not finding her funny.

I raised it in TIAM. Pointed out my main issue was a lot of comedy relies on timing which, for obvious reasons, she lacks. Trying to understand her destroys immersion in jokes too. Just not funny.

I thought Rosie Jones was a Nut/Loaded/Zoo model now married to Joe Wicks, so this thread has baffled the crap out of me til I did some google-fu which, despite how distracting the google images section for the model can be, eventually got me to the "right" Rosie for this thread. :)
