Brawn might come back, but really, is there anything left he hasn't done short of driving the car to a championship himself? He's been Principle, Team Owner, etc. Is there anything other than doing it all again for someone else?

IIRC I read somewhere that he is 59. He might have just had enough of the stress and travelling, especially with so many races on the calendar for the last few years.

ah, i mean maybe you could say the same for a lot of senior members of the paddock. for some reason I just thought with Ross after his convos teh media post 2013 that he's had enough. :\

He is a youngster compared to Frank Williams (admittedly who has retired now, and hasnt done a full season of going to every race etc in quite a few years but even so)

Good luck to RB, really hoped to see him come back at McLaren but as above he has done everything and he deserves the rest lol.

I think everyone could see this coming really. He was pretty much shoved out of Mercedes, and he's got multiple titles, one with his own team, so you can see how he could be very happy with his acheivements and take the opportunity to leave.

He's only gone from F1 though. Maybe he will stick around motorsport elsewhere? Ferrari might need someone to head up their Le Mans team ;)

A large majority of people I know are quite ready to pack it in by the time they're reaching that age (and usually 10 years before if money wasn't an issue). Just because it's F1 and he's been successful doesn't mean he'll want to stick it out. What does he have left to accomplish? He probably wants to go and do all the stuff he's never been able to because he's had to masterplan F1 teams for the last couple of decades.

Disappointing, unless its all a game, we've heard such claims before. Then an announcements within months of a swap.

If true I'm shocked as I didn't think he would care if he had accomplished everything. It flows in his blood. I can't see him just leaving f1.

I'm quite glad he's retiring from my view. I read His wife has an ongoing illness and I can imagine being a team principle at formula 1 team going all around the world puts stress on the situation. He may be back later, but nobody is more deserving of a break in my opinion than Ross. :)
