Yes, 8500rpm in my case, 500 up from standard. The 230bhp version of the RX8 has a 9k limit IIRC.

They love to rev.

It's just that I remember watching a video on the Internet of some yank pushing the pedal to the metal and the engine revving to 9krpm (RX7) and very, very slowly climbing and eventually catching fire.

the engine was knackered in that vid anyway, only 1 rotor and iirc it was not rebuildable so they killed it.

Yup. 1 broken rotor and they were placing bets on how long the engine would last at 9000rpm.
