Ok I'm over 19 stone...I'm an intensive care nurse, I'm a light blue belt in ju jitsu, I'm a married man of 2 kids and have an excellent wife who happens to be a senior physio.

But I am lazy and a glutton! I admit it....but this going to change...I'm morbidly obese, I feel my chest tighten at times, I hate the stairs and my knees feel like they belong to a 50 year old but I'm only 35!

I'm awaiting the results of an MRI on my right knee, I think I've torn my meniscus and will need an arthroscopy to clean it up. But this isn't going to slow me down.

I need some help on sorting my gluttony, I'm very open about it, I snack when I'm bored, and finish the lot, nothing gets put back in the kitchen cupboard for later.

So.....that's me....I don't want to post pics but at over 19 stones and at 5 foot 9 inches you can get the picture.

I've decided to find a personal trainer in my area and get started. My wife and kids deserve a fitter family member.

So here it goes...wish me luck!

Ps anyone else here use a personal trainer?

Ok so had an arthroscopy of my knee today...lots and lots of patella and meniscal shaving and shaved my synovial sack too, he told me I'm looking at a petal femoral joint replacement in the future...so I'm laid up for a week or so, then what? Any suggestions? I'm really frustrated and lack of movement is inhibiting my weight loss. Even thinking of wheel chair aerobics for a few days to get my heart rate up.

Today did a long slow warm up and loads of stretching, feeling doms from a few says ago,

right today wasnt pretty. 18st 13 doing burpees! I did the 7 minute challenge, managed 74 which is P*** poor but better than anything ive achieved before. itll get better when I have recovered from my knee surgery which is still a little sore and im lighter.
