I have a 2007WFP that I have had for years at home, but need a monitor for uni (possibly the S2409W).

However on finding out that the 2007WFP has a S-IPS/PVA, I'm swinging back to just saving my money and dealing with the hassle of bringing it over the water.

I don't really want to deal with a lower quality screen and annoying viewing angles (I've got my laptop for that).

Anyway if you were in my position what would you do?

The 2007WFP is a nice screen, if you can get it to you reasonably cheaply then i'm sure it would be worth it.

As for buying a new screen, I suggest having a look at the Dell 2209WA. It uses an eIPS panel and is generally fantastic (also on offer).

The s2409w is a decent monitor, but it is limited by its panel type (TN), if you want good viewing angles, this is likely not as bad as your laptop - but won't hold a candle to your 2007wfp (or any VA or IPS monitor).

I just can't seem to justify £186 for a 22" 1680 x 1050 screen.

Monitors seem to have gone nowhere since buying my 2007WFP 4 years ago.
