Is it possible to take a guess using those stats at what sort of speed the line might get on MAX?

I'd say 6 to 8mb

Baring in mind the state of any internal wiring is in good nick and nothing wrong with the cable en route to the exchange.

Whats your line currently sync'd at?

Nvm, i'll just give you the link:

Well, 1Mb afaik because i'm on a 1Mb connection. Was told years ago that I couldn't get 2Mb.

Just wondering whether it's worth just swapping to Pipex MAX, changing to another supplier on MaxDSL or getting Cable...

Link says 5.7Mb on ADSL and 19Mb on ADSL2+

If I had the choice, then I would go for cable. ADSL is a royal pain with faults and RFI interference etc.. I used to sync at 79xx, now it is down to 4800-5100.
All because of some electrical interference that appeared over a year ago, that cannot be found where it is coming from.
