Great boards like these at these prices would steer me away from Sandybridge to be honest. As you could either knock together a decent system for little money with the Foxconn X58 or build a monster of a PC with the Gigabytes.

whats the main difference between the Foxconn and the Gigabyte? Is it just down to component quality?

The Gigabyte are their flahship boards, best possible quality components, over-engineered, onboard KILLER NICS, ONBOARD Creative X-Fi Soundblasters etc.

The Foxconn is more a mainstream board, though it also using high-quality components as well, it just has far less features compared to Gigabyte.

For the money its an incredible specification, Gulftown, amazing mainboard and 12GB of RAM.
