Hello,
Attempted to replace my other half's brake hose this morning (showing its age), but have failed miserably. The flare nut on the hard brake line rounded off pretty much straight away, despite using the correct sized flare nut spanner, and multiple applications of plusgas hours before and during. Vice grips don't help either, as the nut is literally disintegrating, it's totally not fit for applying any force.
Am I right in assuming the only way to tackle this is to cut the brake pipe, and re-flare it? I reckon there's just about enough slack in the hardline to get away with this, without putting strain on the flexi hose.
Thanks for any advice.
Cheers
