Router advice please

Tried to install a Netgear ADSL wireless router today. No joy.

The internet is with AOL and the router was sent by them.

The internet works fine with the USB BT modem.

Went on the phone to AOL (India) and done all the right settings but still no joy with the router. The 'Internet' light on the router kept flashing orange, then going to yellow and the off, all the time.

Only thing conneted to the phone socket was filter first, phone and cable to router.

What could be wrong guys? Faulty router? Indian people kept saying no but the USB modem works fine.

All router settings correct as had a walk through several times with AOL and they confirmed setting fine.

What is the router ID (model number etc.)?

You can go to Netgear website they have pretty good troubleshooting section for any model of their range.

Have you tried to reset the router? There must be a manual with it, I would not entirely rely on the Indian guys, no offence but I have been there (Tiscali customer support and managed to resolve the problem despite them).

Can you get into the admin CP at all?

It might be worth while checking the logs to see where it's at fault.

Been in via Admin still no joy. Tried resetting etc etc.
