Router advice

Seeking the advice of trusty OcUK's

A friend of mine battles to get signal from his router at one end of his flat, 75% of the house is covered but annoyingly for him he spends most of his time in the remaining 25%

Running cables to move the router is one solution I've told him, what are his other options? He's at the stage now where he's willing to pay for another router

He using a pc or laptop?

Does he want wired or wireless?
One option is a Powerline Wireless extender
expensive
cheaper

He could move the extender around until he found the best coverage for the rest of the house, or move from room to room if needed

Unless it's a flat conversion in a period property with very thick walls, I would think one decent router ought to cover the whole flat.

He is using only wireless for all his devices. Are there any routers on the market known to have more range?
