Hi all,

My wireless speeds are terrible even more so in the eveings with my Virgin Superhub, can't even watch a simple youtube clip without waiting forever!

If I set my Superhub in modem mode will this do the trick for me?

Or if there is anything closer to £50 that would be just as good then please let me know, im on 30MB broadband soon to be 60MB

Thanks in advance :)

I have the exact setup as you are looking at getting and i cannot fault the asus. It does a good job and i have never had any trouble with it. I dont have any extensive wireless use on my network but I am told it offers ones of the best wireless networks you can get.

Are you sure it's the WAN speed that's slow, not your broadband speed?
As far as I remember, the super hub has Wireless N, so that should be sufficient for YouTube videos etc. What wireless card do you have on your PC. Is it wireless-N compatible?
Why not hard wire a Gigabit Lan cable (1000Mb/s)? The superhub has gigabit ethernet ports and so does you mobo.

My PC is wired ad has no problems, we have an Iphone4s and iPod touches that use wifi which has the problems, after searching on google it seems a lot of people are having the same issues with the superhub and getting separate routers

Here are the specs of the iphone 4s wireless card: 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi (802.11n 2.4GHz only)

The benefits of the Asus RT-N56U that you linked to are a 5GHz wireless-n capability, that you're iphone won't be compatible with.

Have you seen this page?

I've had similar problems with my iphones and ipad on my sky router. Mostly random disconnections from the wifi network. I found that changing my wifi network channel helped the most. i.e. trying to find a channel that networks in other nearby houses aren't using.

From the reviews of the router I posted a link to a few of the reviewers said it sorted there virgin superhub problems out so I will more than likely go for one of those. Virgin tech support have been no help and just go through the same set questions.
